...wonder why we had to learn so many vocabulary words in school, when the only words I use on a daily basis are "no" and "sit down?" (This applies to my babies and my students.)

Yes. I agree with it all. My words are Stop It? & Come Here! Bandaids are our best friends. I need a mop after two hippos roll around in the tub. And mine learned to spill all non-lidded drinks in the womb.
