Prayer Request

Today we had a chance to go to Odessa to visit some friends of ours, Teri and Jared Self at the Odessa Regional Hospital. They are expecting twins, a boy (baby B) and a girl (baby A). Jared is a Game Warden and works closely with Chris. Teri is a teacher. They live in Balmorhea.

At 17 weeks (or pretty close, I'm not 100% sure) baby A's water broke. The doctors put her on immediate bed rest, but the out look was grim. They told her when (if) she made it to 24 weeks they would put her in the hospital until the babies come. By the grace of God she made it to 24 weeks and both babies are growing and thriving. Baby A still has very little fluid, but still growing and has a strong heartbeat.

Teri is now at 28 weeks and has been in the hospital for 4 weeks. Over the last few days, however, she has had some bleeding and some contractions.

It's too early. Please pray for Teri and Jared and the babies. We are praying that she makes it to 34 weeks, when the doctors will take the babies because then the risk of infection outweighs the risk of premature infants. We pray for healthy babies and for the doctors and nurses that are involved. I also especially pray for Teri, I know that I would go CRAZY being on bed rest for that long. She is taking it so well.

The Amthor Speedway

The boys got these walkers from their grandparents for Christmas. While they are still a little small for them, a simple blanket to prop them up, and the boys fit perfectly. They have pedals they can push with their feet that set off sounds and lights, and the steering wheel has lights and sounds, also. The boys can surprisingly make all of them work. They love them. They especially love when Daddy pushes them down the hallway.

Just a side note, Heath has claimed the black one. If I dare switch them, Heath will sit and glare at Hunter, refusing to push any buttons or play at all. However, if I switch them back, he will play and smile and have a grand time.

Can we play fetch yet?

Since we brought the boys home from the hospital, Warden has been aware of the boys, but hasn't shown much interest in them. Lately, however, I have noticed that he comes to the window when the boys are crying and he has started sleeping outside under the window of our bedroom because he can hear the boys cry in the middle of the night. He wants to be there for them and he is ready to get to know the boys.

Yesterday, I put the boys in their Bumbos in front of the kitchen sliding door so they could look outside and watch while I did the dishes. I noticed that Warden came up and was looking at the boys, but then he quickly disappeared. When he came back, he had his toy in his mouth as if saying, "Can we play, yet?"

I can't wait until they are old enough to actually play with Warden. He will be such a great friend for them. I'm sure he will be ridden, tugged on, crawled under, and anything else these boys can think of...and Warden will love every bit of it.

Pictures from the weekend

Here are some pictures from our weekend at Chris's parents house in San Saba. We had a wonderful time and it was great for the boys to get to meet that side of the family.

First of all, here are the pictures that I promised of all the "stuff" we had to pack. We had to put everything in black plastic bags because of the rain that kicked up when we were leaving.

3 Months Old

Happy Birthday to You!

The boys are three months old today. They smile and coo and steal my heart a little more each day. I've tried to convince them to slow down a little bit because it is just too fast for this Momma. They won't have it. So I guess that I will just have to soak up every bit. I never knew my heart could hold this much love.

We are still visiting the in-laws, so I will have to post more pictures when we return on Wednesday.

Aunt Shi's First Dirty Diaper

I was actually surprised that she did it, but Chris's sister, Shi Ann, decided that she wanted to change a dirty diaper to see what all of the hype was about. Poor Heath was the unfortunate soul. The rest of us found it downright hysterical.

and we're off

Today we are leaving to go visit Chris's family in San Saba. This will be our first overnight trip with the boys. I will have to take pictures of all the stuff that we have packed and show them to you. It is ridiculous how much stuff we have to pack for a day trip, let alone 5 days (we will be back Wednesday around lunch). Wish us luck.

Passy Patrol

It amazes me on a daily basis, just how different my boys are. Yes, they may have entered this world about a minute apart and may have shared a womb, but they are night and day different. I'm sure there will be other times that I blog about their differences, but this time I am just going to point out one difference.


Heath is really good at keeping his pacifier in his mouth. Unless he really doesn't want it, it will stay in most of the time. Hunter, however, is terrible at it. I am CONSTANTLY having to put it back in his mouth to silence his screams. Apparently, this particular day, Heath got tired of it, too. If you look closely at the pictures you can tell he is holding it in for his brother.

Multi-tasker

Yesterday, I:

*Did the dishes while vacuuming the living room
*Did the laundry while vacuuming my bedroom

*Made the bed while vacuuming the kitchen

*Cuddled with my babies while vacuuming the boys room

How did I manage, you may ask?

My new vacuum cleaner!!! Chris bought me an IRobot Roomba for my birthday. This cool little gadget vacuums an entire room with just the touch of a button. It is soooo cool. It works really well and picked up more dirt than my old vacuum. I actually had no idea that my floors were that dirty. Gross! They are clean now!

So maybe having this makes me lazy, but I managed to get so much done while vacuuming my floors. It is great, I highly recommend it.

They say it's your Birthday....

well it's my birthday, too.

Today is the big...2-8. How was I to know that my 28th birthday would be the best ever? I have a wonderful husband and the most adorable, precious, superb sons a mother could ever have. This past year has been wonderful. Last year, the though of having a child was only a dream, and I never even imagined that I would have TWO. I have been so blessed. Happy Birthday to me.

Helping Daddy

Now that Hunting season is over, Chris's job changes. He switches over to water safety season. He usually has to work different lakes around the state and patrol rivers. He checks for boater safety laws as well as fishing bag limits. As long as the weather is warm, he loves being out on the water. Lately, he has been getting the Game Warden boats running, and, thankfully, he does this in our front yard so the boys and I get to spend more time with him while he works.


Here are the boys "helping" Daddy fix the GW boat.
Sometimes Mommy just doesn't have enough hands, so Heath got to "Help" Daddy do his monthly reports.

Someday we will be big enough to really help out, Daddy, until then, thanks for letting us hang out.
