Morning Routine

Before school started, being the "Type A" person I am, I was concerned about how the boys would do in the mornings with getting up and ready before it was time to go.  Of course, I turned to Pinterest and found these cute little gems and proceed to make my own version of them.  As they complete each task, they close that flap and move to the next task.  It works really well and allows them to be more self directed, instead of me having to stand over them all morning long.

The charts include, getting dressed, eating breakfast, brushing hair and teeth, and even the kicker....Making the bed. Before August, my boys had never made their beds before.  They had helped me and thrown a few blankets, but never done this task by themselves.

I'm happy to say that the charts are working extremely well, and the best part is the bed making.  Check this out!

These beds were made by 4 year olds.  All.  By. Themselves.

It's not perfect, but it's definitely a start.
