My Super Superb Selfless Sista!

This woman is amazing.  She is a wonderful mother, teacher, and wife.  But most of all (to me anyway) she is a superb sister and aunt.  She is so giving and selfless.  She is beautiful on the inside and out.

Since August she has been swinging by my house (on school days) to get my boys at 6 am.  That's right, I said SIX A.M.  She has been taking them to the baby sitter for me since she has to go out there anyway to feed show animals.

Do you know what all can be accomplished between the hours of 6 am and 7 am?  Let me give you a glimpse into my morning routine:

5:30 Wake up, put on make-up, make coffee.
6:00 My glorious sister shows up and we take the boys from their beds straight to her car.  She takes them to Mimi's.
6:00-7:00 Put up laundry, Do the dishes, iron clothes, organize cabinets, dust living room, spot clean the kitchen floor, clean out refrigerator, de-clutter bookshelf, sort through toys (discard while the boys aren't looking), wrap presents, decided what is for supper and defrost or start crock pot, take out the trash, clean the boys room, box up clothes that they have out grown, clean the bath tub, bleach bath toys, balance check book, hunt for missing pieces of toys, and with about 10 minutes to spare, I get myself ready for school, and leave so I can  make it in time to tutor students.

That's why my sister is so amazing!

The deal we made was that she would take them from August through January.  I have to take them from February until school gets out in May (because she doesn't have to feed animals anymore).  Today was my first day.  It was tough.  Not only did I have to get up at 5 to get ready, but I had to do it really quietly so I wouldn't wake up the boys (who, by the way, had just gone to sleep at 4, but that is another blog post).  I left the house at 6 and I didn't have the laundry or dishes done and I don't know what we are going to have for supper.

I know, I know, I'm really spoiled.  I am ever so thankful that she took them for over HALF of the school year, I guess I'll just have to get used to the new normal.

Psycho Toys

The boys got a set (or two) of these last year for Easter.
They were loads of fun.  There is a small button on the side that you can push and for 30 minutes they will talk and yell out comments like:  I'm Hiding, I'm over here, or Come Find me!  When you finally do find it, you can open it up and the little rabbit inside, laughs and says, "You found me!"  Annoying! Great Fun!

However, these toys are about a year old and they are starting to malfunction, as in, they go off at random times and without anyone touching them or even being in the same room as they are.

There is nothing like going through hunting season with your husband rarely home and hearing, "I'm Hiding!" at 3am.  Talk about SCARED ME TO DEATH  making me a little nervous!!!  The biggest problem is that when it starts it up, you can't turn it off or break it in half.  At 3a.m. the other night I ended up shoving it under the futon mattress in the playroom at the other end of the house because it would not stop taunting me!

Why is it that toys start making sounds in the middle of the night?  Doesn't any one else find this a little FReAKy?!?  Maybe I'm just a chicken, protective parent.

All that to say this...As I left the house this morning, guess who started Mooooing at me...
LeapFrog Fridge Farm™ Magnetic Animal Set
From now on, we will only have silent toys at our house.

Just Dance

Chris and I got a Wii for Christmas just so I could have the Just Dance 2 game. I have always been the type of person who was VERY MUCH against having a video game. I think people need to get off the couch and be active. This game does that, so I finally gave in. It is so much fun. It gets you off of the couch and moving and I promise it is a wonderful workout because I am panting everytime I finish just one song. And, for the record...Chris ususally beats me!

Apparently, our children have been watching us too, because everytime they see the Wii remote they ask, "unn dance?"

Here are some TOO cute videos of them dancing. I don't know where they get their moves!

Daddy's Deer

Daddy shot a big whitetail buck with his bow. It scored 125. It was just a few measly points away from going Pope and Young. We are still really proud of him.

Where O` Where Could it be?

Does anyone else spend the majority of their days looking for sippy cups? Just this last weekend, I decided to take a picture of everywhere I found a cup after looking for what seemed like hours!

When I ask the boys where the cup is, they look at me with a blank stare like they have never even seen a cup.

This one was particularly challenging seeing as the boys are not allowed into the room where this cup was found. Hmmm....how did it get in there then?

What doesn't belong in this picture?

I found all the missing pieces to all the toys when I found this one. Now I know a favorite hiding place. Please ignore the crumbs on the floor.

I am not the kind of person that can just go get another cup and hope to find the missing one later. This drives me nuts! Do you think they do it on purpose to watch Momma lose it?

Christmas at Lolly and Pop's

After Christmas we traveled to Chris's parents to celebrate with them. We were greeted by their massive 12 foot Christmas tree.

The boys were taken back, that thing was HUGE!

They gave the boys their presents right away so they could go ahead and play with them. The boys loved their new trucks.

The next day, Lolly threw the boys a birthday party and invited all of the cousins. What fun!

We were all too blessed this holiday season. We all go everything we wanted and more. My house looks like Toys R` Us puked in the living room, but I'm sure we will find a place for everything. The best part was the family, food, and fun. Who needs gifts when you have that.
