Prom to a PreK kid

Hunter just informed me "Hey Mom, did you know that we missed prom this weekend?"

To which I replied, "Hunter, do you know what prom is?"

He answered, "Yeah Mom, it's where the cheerleaders come through the building. A girl in my class told me."

I love that boy!

On a different note...

Heath just finished a two day standoff with his beef and broccoli that we had the other night. He kept refusing to eat it and it kept returning the next night for supper. The good news is he just finished his plate of beef and broccoli and got to enjoy some chicken nuggets with the rest of us.

I can be more hardheaded than he can be. FYI: no children were starved in the teaching of this lesson.

Valentine's Day Party

These boys of mine are pretty loved!  They had a wonderful time at their Valentine party at school.
They recieved too much candy and tons of goodies from all of their friends.

Because I Don't Want to Forget...

The other day as the boys and I were driving to school we were looking at a glorious sunrise. I was pointing it out to the boys because it had a beautiful blue background with wonderful streaks of orange, red, and pink. I was trying to explain to the boys what a wonderful artist our God was, when Heath questioningly looked at me and said, But Mom, it looks like God scribbled."

After I tucked the boys into bed the other night I could hear them having a conversation about girls. Heath has always pronounced the word "girl" as "grill". Chris and I haven't really corrected it because it's pretty cute. However, across their bunk beds I could hear Hunter telling him that girl had an "r" in it and it wasn't pronounced that way. They went back-and-forth fighting and neither one won. It was too funny.

San Antonio Livestock Show

While my boys are still too young to show animals, we still love to go to the San Antonio livestock show.  It's tons of fun and has tons of shopping.  I also enjoy every opportunity to get out of this small town for a few days.
Watching the show with Papa in their matching pink shirts.  So handsome!

Construction Zone!

We have cabinets!  Within 2 and 1/2 days, all the cabinets, all the closet and pantry shelving, the garage doors, the ladder to the attic, the kitchen island, all the baseboards, and crown molding on the ceiling were installed.  It's pretty exciting!

This is my mud room cabinet that is in the laundry room.  It is directly off of the garage.  I'm super excited about my mud room cabinet.  It will be a gathering place for back packs and jackets.  Whoo Hoo!

The brick layers are still working hard, but it will probably be the end of this week before they finish.
This is the boys favorite part of the construction...the dirt mound!  They love playing out there.

Momma's New Wheels

The Xterra is 11 years old, and while I will always love that car, it was just getting to where it wasn't safe enough for me to take it out of town by myself.  So....Momma got a new truck.
