Carving the Jack O` Lantern

I was so excited to let the boys help Chris carve the pumpkin this year. Click here to see last years pumpkin carvin adventure. I just knew they would dig in and love getting messy. Well.....I was partially right.

Hunter couldn't get enough.

He pulled out seeds and slimy stuff with the best of them.

He had no problem reaching way down to the bottom to scrap out the insides.

He even helped Daddy put it into the bag.

This pumpkin is more Heath's style, however,

This pictures shows the one (and only) time he put his hand anywhere near the pumpkin, and it was only because he wanted the spoon that Chris dropped in there.

He preferred playing in the dirt.

....and when Chris put the pumpkin slime on his shoulder, I seriously thought he was going to throw up!

He kept looking at Chris like, "Why would you do this to me?"

"Look over here guys, let's just plug these in and call it good...that would be much easier" I think he has some of my OCD.

Toys 'R Us

The other day, Chris and I were in town and had some time to spare. We decided to take the boys to Toys R' Us and see if we could get any ideas for Christmas presents.

We had been in there before, but I don't think the boys were old enough to understand where we were. However, this time they completely understood that the shelves were lined with toys of every color, shape, and size.

They oooo'ed and awwwww'ed at everything, and every corner we turned, they would suck in their breaths as if saying, "Look Brother, there's more!"

Chris and I thought this was just down right hilarious. We laughed so hard! Our poor precious children live such a sheltered life that a trip to Toys 'R Us was definitely the highlight of their day.

Thankfully, they are still too young to want to BUY anything, it's still just fun to look at the toys. :)

The Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze

We've made it a tradition to visit the pumpkin patch and the corn maze every fall. Click here and here to see our last two trips.



This past weekend we met our good friend, Kayin, at Fiddlesticks for an afternoon of fall fun.



We sat on really big pumpkins (or pun-tins, as Hunter and Heath say)

We got a little worried about the tractor, especially when the driver started it up right as Momma started snapping pictures.

We loved the petting zoo. Heath especially loved the piglets.

They walked for a long way like this, so adorable!

We really loved the LOOONNNNGGGG slide!

The popcorn bouncer was our favorite, even though Daddy bounced us a little rough.

Of course, we had to stop and let Daddy shoot the pumpkin cannon a few times.

Then, we went and rode on the cow train. Lolly and Pops took us on the dusty ride. What Fun!

Mom made us pose by the pretty flowers. Come on Mom, boys don't pose with flowers!

According to this same picture from last year, we've grown about half a foot.

The maze was a lot of fun, too, but that is a lot of walking for two little boys.

We had to stop and rest a few times. (or maybe just to play in the dirt)

At one point, Hunter decided he was "pooped" and decided to lay down on the pathway, refusing to go any farther.

We all had a blast and can't wait to go next year.

Butterflies

Last week the Monarch Migration moved through town. I have never seen anything quite like it. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I'm not usually a big fan of butterflies. I don't like pictures of butterflies, I will not wear them on my clothes or jewelry, and, over all, they kind of freak me out! However, I will say that I was totally amazed with the number of butterflies that took over our town for a few days. It was pretty cool.
