Oh Sweetie...this is just the beginning

Unfortunately, Chris and I have found nothing pertaining to the babies that comes already assembled. This past week, Chris managed to put together the rocking chair and the footstool, the play pen, and the swing. He only threw the directions across the room a few times and didn't make any mistakes that he couldn't easily undo. I tried to sit quietly and just stay out of his way. When he finished those three things, he wiped his brow and said, "Whew, I'm finished with that." I didn't have the heart to tell him that was only the beginning. He will soon have two cribs, a dresser, strollers, high chairs, and who knows what all else. He should be an expert when the babies finally arrive.

Drum roll please...

Well the wait is over, Chris and I went to the sonogram specialist today and found out that we are having two BOYS. We are thrilled (just as we would have been with girls), but now Chris has two hunting and fishing buddies. Also, he won't have to worry about following his daughter on her first date. I'll try to put pictures of the sonogram up as soon as I can, but rest assure, there is NO QUESTION that they are boys.

The flood

Yesterday we had a great flood here in Iraan. It made everyone very nervous, especially this game wardens wife. Chris and the other surrounding Wardens managed to pull approximately 8 different people from scary drowning situations. A lot of prayers were sent up, and they were answered...Chris and the other Wardens made it safely to our house about 3:30 this morning without a single drowning victim. We definitely need to thank God for watching over all of them.

Tomorrow Chris and I head to the sonogram specialist to take a look at the babies. Once again, hopefully we will get to find out what the babies are if everyone (doctors and babies) will cooperate. I'll update the blog as soon as I know.

It was just a matter of time

My sister, Kay, has four kids. The oldest is 11 and the youngest is 2. She has three very rowdy and active boys and a precious little girl that puts the boys to shame. So the big surprise here is that more serious injuries haven't happened prior to this. Sweet, little Zane, her third boy, fell out of the tree house yesterday and broke his arm in two different places. He was very brave, and Kay was super calm during the whole episode. I would have been in complete panic mode. When I got to her house to pick up the other three kids so she could take Zane to the ER, the other kids were standing around trying to console him. It was too cute to watch Kali, the 2 year old girl, patting his shoulder. Unfortunately, no one was really thinking of a camera at that point in time.

Zane has to have the cast on for 4 weeks and I bet he is a little more cautious next time he climbs into the tree house.
