Heath and Hunter Turn 7!

I'm a little late with this post. Life doesn't slow down to blog. 

These sweet boys turned 7 last week. They are getting so big!    It makes my heart hurt a little bit. I want them to stay my little boys forever. On the other hand, I can't wait to see what life has in store for them. They make my cup overflow and I couldn't be more proud to be their mom. 

I asked Heath on their birthday to stop growing up so big. To which he replied," I can't Mom, the Braves didn't have a very good year this year and they need me."  Haha. That boy keeps us rolling!

2015 Pumpkin Spice Review

I'm sure you have all been eagerly anticipating my Pumpkin Spice Review of 2015, so I hate to make you wait any longer.

It was hard to find new and different pumpkin flavored items this year, but I have a host of friends that helped me out.

This chocolate bar was tasty and you could tell it had a pumpkin spiciness to it, but I'm not a fan of dark chocolate, so I gave it to my sister.

These donuts were Delish!  I tried to share with the twins because I definitely don't need a whole bag of donuts, but I probably ate more than they did.

This popcorn was super yummy, too.  It tasted like caramel corn with a spicy kick to it.  I'm keeping my eyes out for another bag, because this one went too quickly.

These are the best for making Pumpkin Spice Puppy Chow.  I made a big batch for the project graduation bake sale, and there weren't any bags left, so I guess it sold well.  I, of course, tried it out and they were super yummy.

A dear friend gave me these to munch on for our trip to Denver.  Despite the fact that they melted in the truck on the way up there, they were still really good.  Gooey but good.

Hi.  My name is Crystal and I love STALE peeps.  I must confess that I opened this package and let them sit on the counter for a few days before I tasted them.  I love peeps that are stale.  These were the BOMB!  

Unfortunately, these also melted in the truck on the way to Denver, but they were an awesome mess of gooey caramel, melted chocolate, and pumpkin spice awesomeness!

Hunter's First Deer

Hunter's hunt didn't exactly go as planned.  We started out in the deer stand, but soon realized that the feeder wasn't going to go off.  So we decided to hunt from the truck.  The first deer Daddy found for Hunter to shoot was a long way off.  It was a hard/far shot.  It was a miss.  Then Daddy found this deer.  Hunter's first shot was a miss.  The deer didn't even move, so we reloaded and he made a second shot.  It was perfect!  The deer went down and will provide more food for our family.

Heath's First Deer

We had a BIG Tuesday around here, folks!  Heath got to join the hunting club and shot his first deer.  We all sat in a deer stand and scoped out a nice doe.

Hunter and I went along for moral support and to take pictures/videos of the exciting event.

He did it all by himself.  One perfect shot.

Daddy may have been a little more excited than any of us.  His oldest son (by one minute) has just joined him in a life long sport. (...and might I add, made a better shot than Daddy usually does.)

Halloween 2015

I found 2 of the cutest dragon slayer costumes online this year. One was red and the other blue. They were adorable. When I excitedly showed the boy and asked if they wanted to be dragon slayers for Halloween, Hunter thought it sound great and quickly picked the red one. Heath rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Nope," he said, "I want to be the dragon."  So that's what we had....the dragon slayer and the dragon.

Pumpkins!

Our Halloween tradition is to carve pumpkins with our besties.

The dads are really learning to step up their game in the pumpkin carving.

A few days later we carved one more pumpkin that we had at the house.  Chris and the boys worked so hard on it after school.  They carved out a black widow spider and the web.  The pumpkin looked awesome.  When they were done, Chris put it outside with the promise that just before bedtime we would go outside and light it and take pictures.  Then we all came in and got busy cooking supper and doing homework.  As promised, we all headed outside at dark only to find that our dog had drug in into the yard and he and the deer had proceeded to demolish it and have themselves a snack.  There was no more pumpkin left.  It lasted less than 2 hours.

October Junior Brave - Heath

Heath was selected for his Kindergarten class to be the October Junior Brave. When he got the letter announcing his achievement he was beyond excited!

He even took the letter to the football game to show it off to Aunt Amy and Aunt Kay.

This little guy is having a great year so far, and he loves his teacher.

Mimi and Papa got to come eat with him in the cafeteria and watch the awards ceremony.
