Kid Fish

Every year the Independence Creek Nature Preserve and the East Pecos County Game Warden (aka Chris) put on a kid fish for the local students here.  This event has grown and is quite an undertaking.  This year was the 10th annual.  It is loads of fun, but this year was extra special because the boys were old enough to fish (or at least attempt to fish).
This sweet Game Warden stopped by while making his rounds to help out the two cutest fishermen.
My sweet Hunter fishing from the dock.  He really got the hang of tossing his line out into the water.  He and I sat on the dock for almost an hour repeating that activity over and over and over and over....  He never grew tired.
Heath was down right dangerous with his lure.  Not many people wanted to come and fish by him.
Thankfully that sweet Game Warden came by about the time the pole broke.  Momma can fish.  Momma can't fix broken fishing poles.
After a hard morning of fishing (and not catching), we stopped to have yummy hot dogs for lunch.
Sunday, after everyone had left, our family along with some other Game Warden families snuck down to the Independence Creek.  Because of the recent flooding, all of the vegetation has been washed away leaving beautiful clear water and no snakey looking trees.  It was heaven!

Brothers: Swinging Through Life Together

Brother and Brother,
together as friends,
ready to face
whatever life sends.

Joy and laughter
or tears and strife,
holding hands tightly,
as we swing through life.

Funny

I heard the twins in the bathroom and called to them to see what they were doing. Hunter yelled back that he was pooping. I got up and made my way in there, when I arrived, Hunter told me it was ok, "Heath will wipe me." Heath stood ready to go with a wipey in hand. Oh Dear! That would interesting! Silly boys.

Sponge Letters

While cleaning out her room, a dear sweet teacher friend of mine gave me these foam, sponge letters.  This weekend we put them to good use.  The boys loved stamping the patio with them and telling me which letters they were stamping.  Their stamps weren't always clear, but it didn't seem to matter.  We had so much fun and the clean up was perfect...zero!

Maybe next time we will try to stamp out a sight word or two.

Church Fishing Trip

Unfortunately, we only got to go down for the day on Saturday and didn't get to spend the night like the rest of the gang, but we had a blast for the short time we were there. I love being at the river. I feel closer to Heaven there.
