Welcome to the "Hood!"

I thought the PJs were cute, Chris thought the boys looked like they were from the "Hood" despite the fact that they have a bear and a moose on them.

Their Birthday...

...that is the only thing that my boys have in common.

I could have never imagined how different brothers (let alone twins) could be.

Hunter has mastered sitting up (thanks to those who voted in the poll), but he has no desire to learn to roll from his back to his stomach. Heath, however, can roll down the hallway if I would let him, but has no desire to sit up.

Heath would love to lay on the floor all day and play with the toys or just stare at the ceiling fan. Hunter will only sit on the floor if I sit there with him and would much rather be in his bouncy seat.
Heath when he is tired, will lay in his bed, then gently fall asleep, Hunter hates going to sleep and fusses every time.
Hunter smiles and flirts with everyone he sees, Heath is very serious and will study someone very closely before he smiles at them.
Heath loves anything spoon fed, Hunter loves his bottle.
Heath loves his paci, Hunter could easily do without it.

I could go on and on. They are two very different boys, but both of them manage to steal my heart a little more each day (in their own special way, of course).

Camping at the Devils River (Caution:Picture Overload!)

My family makes a yearly trip to the Devils River to go camping. We stay for an entire week, but thankfully have the convenience and air conditioning of the campers. I'll admit that I was nervous about going this year. The boys are really starting to be very active and I didn't know how they would handle the cold river water and the heat outside. Well they LOVED it.

Of course, before we started, we had to pack our tackle boxes.
and we had our life jackets so that we would stay afloat.
Mom made sure that we had plenty of sun screen on and we usually wore a hat.
Here we are having our first dip in the river. We kinda whimpered at first because it was cold, but no more than Daddy did.
Momma and Mimi took us for a paddle boat ride. It was fun!
Here we are fixing to go on our first motor boat ride. "Are you ready for this, Brother?"
Daddy has waited to take us on a boat ride since the day we were born. I don't know who was more excited, him or us.
We also got to ride in the Ranger. The wind blew our hair back and made it stand on end.
Back at camp we enjoyed swinging in our swings. Daddy hung them from a VERY tall tree so we would swing a really long way.
We even got to relax in the hammock.
Mom was kind enough to take our activity centers, so we could still play.
These crazy parents of ours even changed our diapers on a cot out side the campers.
Even more crazy than that, they bathed us out side where the whole family could see. We were SO embarrassed!
In this picture, Momma and Papa are reading us our bedtime story.
Everything was going great...until the bees came. They swarmed our camp for a few days. It wasn't much fun because Mom was soooooo worried that we were going to get stung that she became very over protective. But who do you call when the bees invade your camp??....
...The ultimate bee killer, of course. We think that Daddy must have killed over 400 bees this past week.
We got to play inside while Daddy was taking care of the bee problem.
We also got to play in our pack-n-play that had a net over it. That'll keep the bees out!
When the days were done, we were completely worn out and went right to sleep in our make-shift table-bed-crib.
But while we were sleeping...look what Daddy caught on his fishing pole. He said that he had a tough time reeling it in, but he managed. It's bigger than we are! It's a 27 pounder.
All in all, we had a great time and can't wait until next years trip.

Lots of love,

Heath and Hunter

Chiquita Banana

This is what happens when I leave the boys at home with Daddy for the day. I came back and my camera was full of pictures like this. I guess they had fun, they slept so well last night!

I think they look like the Chiquita Banana Lady.

Check Ups and Sit Ups

We just returned from a long weekend in San Saba. There was lots of good food, good friends, and good fun. We had fun seeing Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Katie and Aunt Shi. Unfortunately, I didn't even think to get out my camera while we were there so these pictures will have to do.

Heath and Hunter are so close to being able to sit up on their own. I'm sure it's their fat little bellies that are getting in the way :).

By the way, we had their 6 month checkup last Wednesday, the boys are doing great. Heath weighs 16lbs. and 6 oz. (50%)and is 27 inches long (75%). Hunter weighs 16lbs. and 10oz. (50%)and is 26 inches long (45%).

A bicycle built for two...

...ok, so maybe it's not a bicycle. How fun is this swing? The boys really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, Hunter is staring into the sun the entire time, so you couldn't see his smiles. They had a blast, but with the summer heat, we didn't stay too long.

Daddy is swinging them a little too high for Mommy.
Heath is all smiles.

Hunter is having a blast despite the sun in his eyes.

What a cute pair!

Happy 4th of July!

Swimming at the ranch with the family. Lot's of splashing good times.

*The boys watched the fireworks at the Iraan Park tonight and were absolutely mesmerized. They loved them. They didn't fuss or even make a peep for about an hour. I put them back in the carriers that were in the back of the truck for the last part and they both passed out before the finale, but other than that they watched and loved every bit of it.

Bouncy...Bouncy...Bouncy...

Ok, so I'll be honest. My sister gave me this toy along with some of her other baby things that she used with her kids. Some of the items looked ancient, so they were graciously accepted with a smile, then put away in the back room. Well the other day I got desperate and ran across this doorway bouncer that I'm sure she used with Owen (almost 12), and thought that I would clean it up and see how the boys liked it. Well, I must apologize to Kay, because this is the greatest toy ever. The twins LOVE it and will bounce forever in it. The only problem is that we don't have TWO!

This is Hunter trying it out. Check out how Heath is staring him down :)

Do you hear fussing in the background? It's Heath trying to tell me that it is his turn. Maybe we should get two???

Heath's Turn

Seein`Double...

...and it's not even a twin thing. Heath was in one of his moods and refused to let me leave the room, so the only solution (that didn't involve a screaming fit) was to take him in the bathroom with me while I got ready to go. He loved it. He had fun playing with the water nozzle and I just prayed that he couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Such a cutie!
