Church Camp 2009

This was our first year to go to the Pecos River Church Encampment. We were pretty sleepy when Mom snapped this picture, but it will forever mark our size and age the first time we went to camp.
Here we are hanging out in the stroller. We had a great time alternating schedules the entire week. One of us would sleep and the other would stay awake. We really enjoy doing this sometimes, just to keep Mom on her toes.

The screen on the stroller came in very handy to keep the pesky mosquitoes out and our toys in.
Here we are at the eating tables. Even though Mom wouldn't let us eat any of the food, we still got to hang out with our distant cousins while Mommy and Daddy ate.
This was our bible class. Our teachers this year were Page Boyd and Tressie Jones. They did a great job.
More fun at bible class
There were a lot of kids in our bible class this year. Some of the ones in this picture are Eli, Landon, D'Laney, Avery, Jaeden, Jake, Trine, and us. One day we even had 14 babies in our class!
Here are some of our friends trying to beat the heat. We played in the swimming pools outside the campers because it was HOT!
Here I am (Heath) in the little pool, I'm pretty sure brother was still napping.
We had a blast while we were out there and can't wait until next year.

Just to See You Smile...I'd Do Anything

This video cracks me up. Hunter started laughing months ago, but Heath has always just flashed a big toothless grin, but no giggles. I guess Daddy just wasn't singing the right song, because he finally got Heath laughing. He refuses to keep his hand out of his mouth, and he has perfected laughing with it all the way in. Just try to watch this video without smiling. Impossible!

*please excuse the terrible filming (and the fact that Daddy is completely messing up the words to the song)

Completely Bummed!

I'm severely allergic to something out at the church camp. I've already gone to the doctor twice and gotten two steroid shots, but the very itchy rash keeps coming back. I guess my only option is to stay home so I don't get back into whatever it is. I would post a picture of my pink Caladryl covered legs, but my camera (and almost everything else) is out at camp. I really wanted the boys to go to their bible class and have fun their first time at camp. Oh well, I guess we will try again next year. :(

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to great fathers in our lives.

Papa

Grandpa

... and to Daddy, Happy 1st Father's Day. You are the greatest! Thanks for all of the goofy things you do to make us laugh (and thanks for letting Mommy catch it on film so we can always remember it).

We love you all lots!

From Heath and Hunter (and Mommy)

*We are going to be at the Pecos River Church Encampment on and off this week. I hope to have lots of pictures and stories next week.

Bottle Holders???

We are getting one step closer to making my life so much easier. I think when the boys are able to hold their own bottles, it just might make us all happier. They are not quite there yet, but we are getting closer.

Here is Hunter demonstrating the proper way to hold his bottle....
...and here is Heath showing you the lazy mans way.

either way...the juice is going in.

1/2 Birthday

Today the boys are 6 months old. Wow how the time flies. Everyday they are learning something new. They definitely have their own personalities but they are both so much fun. They are now eating many different kinds of stage 1 vegetables and fruits. They are rolling over and working very hard on sitting up. They are in size 3-6 month clothes and are stretching the limits of the size 2 diapers.

Today, Chris and I have officially changed a years worth of diapers, given a years worth of bottles, but only have 6 months worth of experience. We don't get everything right, but we are trying. We just try to love them...and hope that everything else will fall into place.

*The photos (of course) are from Keva. Too precious!

Our First Dip in the big pool

Covered in swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, hats, and glasses, I think we are ready.

Heath chillin in the crab.

Hunter hangin in the turtle. I know this is a terriable face, but he really did like it.

Family picture.
Heath
They did a lot better than I thought they would. They loved when Daddy would blow bubbles and make motor boat noises.

Hunter's turn

Hunter is my flirt. He will smile and coo at anyone. He even smiles at people, then quickly turns his head away as if he is shy. I'm afraid that he will be the one that always has a girlfriend. He has his fussy moments, but they are not coming near as often now days. He is the hardest baby to get to go to sleep. He doesn't want to miss anything. He doesn't want to be rocked to sleep, just put in his bed and checked on every other second. His smiles melt my heart and I couldn't love him more!

Not a fan of green beans or mixed cereals.
His best Elvis impersonation

My sweet angel

Shocked!

Pouty Face
This is VERY rare, but when you're tired, you're tired
Sometimes sleeps with his eyes open, kinda freaky.
Kiss me!!
Such a sweet happy boy. I love him!
Look at that smile
Giggling
MMMMM tasty. I guess if Momma won't hurry with the milk, I'll have to eat this.

The faces of Heath

I find myself cracking up at the many expressions that my boys make. I will later contribute a post just to Hunter, but this is all Heath.

I must take about a thousand pictures a day, Here are some of the great ones of Heath.

Heath is such a serious baby. My MIL says that he is just the way that his daddy was at this age. He is not much of a laugher and doesn't smile near as much as his brother. I predict that he will be the studious one. He likes to study people and objects before he opens up to them. He has perfected the "all out scream," (we are currently trying to break that habit). I couldn't love him more. He is brilliant (says this Momma).

Quirky

Sleepy Boy
Almost asleep

Duck Bill Platypus face

This is the norm. He has his daddy's temper. (Just kidding, Chris)

Then it quickly turns to this. Happy Boy.

So sad, such a pouty face.

So inquisitive.

My sweet boy.

Just Another Example of How God Watches Over Us

Look at the background in this picture. This is the empty lot next door to our house. Yeah, it's a bunch of weeds and over grown brush, but it made for a pretty picture (Keva is amazing).
This is the same empty lot, after a fire broke out at about 3 pm today. We were not at the house when this happened, but thankfully we have some wonderful neighbors who helped us out.
Coy James and Jacob Graham doused our yard and Chris's Game Warden Truck with water for about an hour so that the fire would not spread to our yard, house, or Chris's truck.
The cinder block line is where our property line is. Thankfully Coy and Jacob kept the fire on that side of the line while the fire department put the rest of the fire out.
The pine trees that are on the right side of this picture have a little bit of smoke damage, but should fully recover. This picture shows just how close the fire came to Chris's Game Warden truck. He can't afford to loose ANOTHER Game Warden truck this year (click Here to see that story if you missed it)
