Daddy's Birthday Fishing Trip

This past weekend our family of 4 packed up and went camping and fishing for Daddy's birthday.  I'll have to admit that tent camping made me a little nervous, but it was not as bad as I anticipated.  We had a lot of fun.

Heath had a little bit of a cough and his asthma was acting up, but being the good parents we are, we didn't let that deter our fishing.  So we packed up the nebulizer and hooked it up to the boat batteries and we still managed to give him a breathing treatment every three hours. No Problem!
We caught a ton of channel cat and blue cat, but we only kept and cleaned the yellow cat.  Theory has it that they are the best ones to eat.  My mighty fishermen.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

I'm not the biggest fan of baseball, but T-Ball is a completely different story. There is just nothing cuter than a bunch of little-bitties that don't have a clue what they are doing.  Heath and Hunter are starting to grow out of that stage, but they (and the rest of their team) are so fun to watch.

It really is more of a competition over who can get their pants the dirtiest, who can slide into home plate best (yet still miss it by a mile), and who can pick the prettiest flowers.  I call it "Full Contact T-Ball" because we often just tackle the person who is unlucky enough to get to the ball first.  If the game isn't moving fast enough for them, then they play "High-Five the 2nd baseman with your glove on," and I have yet to see a game where at least one player, while running the bases, doesn't have to take a detour to the potty.  So fun!

Life Happens

I kept my niece this weekend because the rest of her family was busy with various different things.  I was happy to keep her.  She plays well with my boys.

I only had her for an hour when this happened.  Apparently she was going down the slide with a PVC pipe, and the pipe hit the ground before she did.  It could have been a lot worse than it was.  Auntie of the Year right here!!!

Saturday night,  Heath started running a high fever.  Sunday, I finally decided to take him to the ER because of the fever and a rash and he was very lethargic.  The diagnosis....he has Scarlet Fever.  He is finally starting to feel better (with no fever or rash), and I hope that he will get to come back to school tomorrow.
Of course, this week, we are STAAR testing and I CANNOT miss school.  Chris went fishing, so my mom has been my life saver and is watching him.  She is awesome!

It continues...... (updated 4/8/15)

Wednesday, I finally sent Heath back to school.  Wednesday evening, Hunter came down with the stomach bug.  AGH!!  We stayed at home with him on Thursday.

Spring Break 2015

I know this is a little late, but life has been crazy, as usual.

We went to Dallas for Spring Break to visit Chris' sister and her family.  While we were there, we went to Great Wolf Lodge.  The boys loved it and had a blast in the water park.
We also went to Lego Land.  They had so much fun.
This has to be the most adorable picture ever!  We got so many comments on their shirts.
No outing would be complete in our family without a trip to Cabela's.
Our nephew Caden is super fond of his Uncle Chris.

Dad's Day

Our school has been doing a series of "Dad's Days" at school to get more parental involvement.  The first day was last month and the fathers came and sat in the classroom with their child for about an hour before going and listening to a speaker talk about how important fathers are to a child's education.

The second day, was a Dad's Math Morning.  Dad's and their kids played math games with cards/dominoes.  Next month, there will be a Dad's science night where the leader promises very "manly" science stuff will take place.

The twins absolutely LOVE when their daddy comes to school with them.

Look....even my daddy got to come to school!
He was there for Miss Kali, though.
