On a Positive Note...

I've been having a really hard time getting back in the swing of things this school year.  To say that school has not been going well is an understatement.  But, on a positive note...we only have 177 more days.

My car window won't roll up anymore.  I went to get in my car yesterday and it was half way down.  Chris worked on it for a long time yesterday and said a part was broken and it would have to be ordered.  But, on a positive note...I get to feel the nice warm breeze everyday.

Hunter sprained his ankle yesterday.  He was jumping and dancing around Mom's living room and rolled it.  It swelled a little and instantly turned blue.  We were going to take him to the ER, but as soon as we got in the car he stopped crying and didn't flinch when I touched it.  He limped on it the rest of the day.  On a positive note....I'm pretty sure it's not broken.

I usually really try to be a happy, positive person but yesterday really got me down.  I just had to write it down and from this point on I promise to be better.  I know there are a lot worse problems in the world and mine are petty in comparison.  But, we all have bad days.....so, there...I feel better now.  Bring on the day!

They're Gonna Hate Me For This!

...but I feel it's part of my duty as a mother to embarrass my kiddos.  Hehe

Random Things That I Don't Want to Forget

Since I keep the blog mainly as a baby book for myself and my boys, I wanted to write down a few things before I forget them.  I have the sweetest boys.  I love them more that words could possibly express, however, they are definitely TWO!  They can be so challenging one minute and so sweet the next.

Heath was refusing to go to sleep the other night and had been sent back to bed crying numerous times.  Then, sweetly I heard Hunter say from the corner, "It's OK Heath-y, I'm hear with you."  Tears at you heart strings doesn't it.

Hunter has taken to calling Heath, Heaf-y.  I don't know where he got it, but it is kind of cute and Heath actually listens to him when he says it.

Heath is still my strong, silent child.  He doesn't say much, but definitely gets his point across.  I guess he doesn't have to say much when he has Hunter to do all the talking for him.  Hunter never stops.

Hunter has the biggest brown eyes.  I love them.  I remember sitting in the NICU right after they had been born and Hunter opened his eyes.  I gasped. They were so captivating. They haven't changed.

Heath has the sweetest little grin.  I love it.  He uses it to his advantage.  When he smiles, it is with his entire face.  His eyes light up and give a little squint because his smile is so wide.

The boys really play together now.  They are starting to make up games and pretend that they are doing something.  Their favorite game right now is "Go to Work."  They will put on their shoes or grab one of their tractors and tell each other, or me that they are "Going to work."  I know they do this because they see Chris leave for work every day.  They want to be just like him.

They are going through a phase (as least I hope it's a phase) where they are terrified of everything.  They want every light in the house on and they want to ALWAYS be in the same room that I am in.  Should I walk out of the room that they are in, as soon as they realize it, I hear blood curling screams and 4 little feet scampering to find me.  I really hope this is a short phase.  Bedtime has become a nightmare and I want to potty in peace again.

Speaking of pottying, there has been no progress, but believe me I will definitely blog about it when there is some.

I have to start back to work on Monday.  To say that I don't want to go is a complete understatement.  I'm going to miss my little guys.  The only good thing about going back to school is that it means Fall is a little closer and with Fall brings football season and all things pumpkin.  You know how I love PUMPKIN!

Bug Patrol

The boys walked around all day like this looking for bugs to kill.
Their Daddy is rubbing off on them too much.
Thankfully, they didn't find too many.

Amthor, Party of 4

Chris and I, and the twins took in a Baseball game the other day.  We needed to spend quality time this summer, with just the 4 of us and this was the perfect way.  The boys loved every minute of it.

They got high-fives from Juice the Moose.  They were a little afraid to get to close, but they would give him five.  After we got back to our seats, Daddy asked why they didn't shoot the moose.

After the game, we took the boys to Osaka, a Japanese restaurant that has a hibachi grill.  They were fascinated by the chef.  Heath even started throwing his silverware around just like the cook.  It was hard to get on to him when that guy got to do it.  They like the fire, but got a little scared when they started hitting the gong.

I Quit

I can't do it.  I am incapable of potty training my kids.

Today I broke down and bought regular diapers again.  Not Pull-Ups, they are a waste of my time and money.  I've tried going straight to underwear with all the fun characters on them, that just resulted in my spending more on Clorox Clean-Up because I was cleaning up all the messes.

I have tried all summer long and at first the boys played along and pretended that they wanted to use the potty.  However, now it seems like I want this more than they do, and until that changes...I quit!

I, for now, am just going to start praying that my children do not go to college in diapers.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to start paying the baby sitter more.

Sincerely,
Discouraged
