Kid Fish 2013

This past weekend we had our annual kid fish at the Nature Preserve.  The boys had a blast because they are officially old enough to participate and win prizes.  They won too many prizes and they had a blast doing it.
Daddy and Aunt Kay helping my little fishermen.
Hunter showing me he can do it himself!
Heath working the reel.  Look at that beautiful scenery behind him.  Love it.
Look Mom!  I caught one!

Rule Followers

We have a new rule at our house.  The boys are not allowed to climb in the tree in our back yard when their daddy is not home.  You see, I don't do well in emergency situations.  I might even be know to run away and throw up rather than help the individual needing attention.  So when the boys discovered that they are now big enough to push the table up to the tree and climb up, we quickly needed to set a few limits.  I can just imagine the injuries that are going to come from that tree.  I know there will be stitches and broken arms, and I hope nothing worse.  Their daddy needs to be there and be in charge when this happens.

The rule: NO CLIMBING IN THE TREE UNLESS DADDY IS HOME.

This past weekend, Chris was out of town and the boys and I spent a lot of time in the back yard (not climbing the tree).  Sunday evening, when I heard his truck pull up, I quickly asked the boys to go and check to see who was here.  My sweet little Heath, ran through the house, saw Chris's truck, and quickly made a u-turn.  He was at least 6 feet up in the tree before Chris made it in the house with his suitcase.

He had waited all weekend long, and now he was officially not breaking the rule.

Retired

Today my Daddy retired from years of hard work. He officially gets to stay at the ranch and be a rancher. When I asked him what he was going to do first now that he was retired, he replied, "build fence." Wow. How exciting is that???

For another month, he will have to help mom babysit the boys. They will have a blast with him. It's ok for 4 year olds to learn how to build fence...right?

Stress Relief

Does anyone watch "How I Met Your Mother?" On that show, the character, Robin, loves to go to the shooting range and release all her stress by shooting her pistol. I didn't really think much of it when I saw that on the show because I have shot plenty of rifles and shot guns in my life time. While I do find hunting fun and enjoyable, the term "stress relief" never really came to mind. That was until I picked up a pistol. There is just something different about it. I can feel the tension leaving my back. It's awesome.

T-Ball

My sweet tiny little babies are officially old enough to participate in a team sport.  We have entered the competitive world of flower picking t-ball.  They are really good at it, too.  They only have to be told a million a few times to back away from the batter, get out of the dirt, or pay attention to the game.  But what would be a game of t-ball without some of that?

They have the most inexperienced awesome coaches ever (Chris and I, and our bestie Melissa).  We totally have no clue know what we are doing.  These little 4 and 5 year olds are like herding grasshoppers a blast to chase around.  We are exhausted super pumped after the games.

We do have the most Awesome team and team name.  The Aggies.  How cool is that?!?!?  That is a winning team for sure.

The boys have a blast and in the end...everyone gets a sno-cone.  What can be better than that?

Bullet

Mimi and Papa got a new puppy named Bullet. He is the cutest little thing. Yellow lab puppies are the cutest dogs ever, anyway. The cuteness makes up for the holes they dig and the water hoses they chew up. Since the boys spend all day out at Mimi's house they consider it their dog. They take it riding in the jeep and kayaks. It is safe to say this dog is going to make a good buddy for my little boys.
