Brownwood Shooting Extravaganza

I'm a little late with this post.  A couple of weekends ago, we traveled to Brownwood to watch the Nephews compete in the Shooting Extravaganza.  I was terrible at taking pictures, I guess I was too busy wrangling my kiddos.  It was defiantly NOT my idea of a relaxing weekend...my babies around a lot of kids with guns!  We survived it and it was lots of fun.
 Cool Dude Heath

We found the World's Largest Rock Pit!  I don't know exactly what this place is used for, but it had a fence with a gate and everything.  The PERFECT place to play!!! (BTW, this one didn't even have goat poop like the one at church camp...I'm just sayin`)
Only a Mother of twins can appreciate these pictures!  It was like divine intervention.  They BOTH went to sleep in the stroller at the same time. It only took about 42 laps around the grounds, but they finally went to sleep at the same time.  That! Never! Happens!

Happy Birthday Babies!

As many of you know, we throw the boys a big birthday party during the summertime since they are Christmas babies.  However, we decided to give them their birthday present early so they can play on it now.
Chris put it together, board by board, one piece at a time, all by himself.  We are so proud.
Yes, there are 3 stories.  I know....this Momma is CRAZY!

They love it and everyday they ask me if they can go swing!
I hope they get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Pictures of the West Texas Grass Fires

As many of you know, West Texas is burning.  We have had no rain and the dry conditions plus the winds are making West Texas look like a war zone.  I thought I would post some of the pictures from the fires, just so you can see what we are dealing with and you can keep us in your prayers.  We need prayers.  Pray that the wind stops.  Pray that all the men and women working on these fires will be kept safe.  Pray for the homes that are in the fires' path.  Pray for the families who have lost their homes.  Pray they are able to contain and put out the fires.  And lastly, pray for RAIN.

These were sent to me from Chris.  They are of the Cannon Ranch fire as it neared the interstate. You can click on any of the pictures to make them bigger.

This is of the Cannon Ranch fire as it neared our ranch.  Our good friends live on the Cannon Ranch.  Their home is safe.  It came within a mile of my parents home.

This is the DHR fire coming at our ranch from the South.  For those of you who don't know, DHR stands for Don Horton Ranch.  Surely you have heard of Don Horton.  He's a billionaire.  Click here if you haven't.  Anyway, that is where this fire started.
Here is a picture of both fires.  It seems like our ranch is getting hit from all sides.

The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear

The boys love this book.  It's one of their favorites.  We read this book on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis.

Hunter can even quote the beginning for us.  "Hello, Little Mouse, what are you doing"  Though Hunter's version goes a little something like this: "Hi Mouse, what doin?"

However, when we get to this page. Hunter slams the book closed and says, "I no wike (like) it!"  The picture of the strawberry with glasses on scares him.
I think that's funny.  It makes me giggle.

I finally have to pry the book away from him so I can return to reading the story.  I skip that page.

Once I tried to skip that page all together and he asked where the "glasses" was.  He knew I skipped it.  However, when I went back to it, he slammed the book closed and said, "I no wike it!"

Giggle.

At the end of the book the Mouse and the narrator cut the strawberry into and eat it all up.  At this point the boys pretend to eat the strawberry by licking the page.  Now that I think about it, that's probably why they both keep getting sick.

Excuse me while I go disinfect that book...

Hunter sings his ABC's

My sweet Hunter is so smart.  He leaves out a few letters, but we will get there.

The funniest part of this video is that Heath is getting into trouble by Chris in the back ground for pulling on the shower curtain.  Chris knew that I was videoing so he was silently getting on to Heath and Heath goes diving back down into the water.  Haha!

I had to cut off the video before the punishing commenced.
