March for Babies 2010

...because I would have given anything for my babies to stay inside my womb for 6 more weeks.

...because, even though our NICU stay was short, it was still the hardest most emotional days of my life.

...because, even after we were released, we left some very sick babies behind us.

...because babies are God's greatest miracles.

...because, we wanted to give back.

That's why I walked.

Does anyone else...

...wonder why we had to learn so many vocabulary words in school, when the only words I use on a daily basis are "no" and "sit down?" (This applies to my babies and my students.)

...think at any given moment, you could play connect the dots on your child's bumps and bruises?

...need a rain coat when you bath your children???

...wonder if they learned to smash food into the carpet in the womb?

I'll Take You There...

She's at it again! Once again Keva has captured the most amazing pictures of my darlings. Be sure to stop by her website, www.kevadawn.com and check them out.

Also, my wonderful babysitter and Mom is now selling her quilts on ETSY. Check out the link on the top right side of my page to find her quilts. If you know someone having a baby, they make GREAT baby gifts or a special keepsake for a grandchild! Got an older child in mind, she can make them bigger, too. Pass the word!

What We've Been Up To

Since it's spring time, we've been out side a lot.
So, we practiced mowing the lawn.

We helped Daddy fix his 4 wheeler, then we helped him test it out in the back yard.

We helped Momma make muffins, and we even got to lick some of the batter.

Today we spent the day in the back yard "helping" Daddy water the grass.

We made a few mud pies while we were at it.

Then we took time out to swing for a little while.

Daddy let us get a drink from the water hose.

This video is for those who want to know exactly what my daily life is like. :)

Happy Easter

Saturday we had Easter with my mom's side of the family. We had lots of fun visiting and hunting eggs with family that we don't get to see very often.

This picture is of Hunter, Zoe, and Heath. Just like this picture from last year.

Sunday, after church and before "Dinner Day" we had a church Easter egg hunt. We were a little better about hunting the eggs.

Hunter found about three eggs, then decided he was through and began to throw his eggs to bust them open and see what fell out.

Heath wasn't a fan of putting his "prize" into the basket. Once he found one, he clung to it for dear life, afraid someone would take it away.

What a wonderful weekend. We are so blessed.

15 months

At their 15 month check up, Heath weighed 22.5 lbs and was 32 inches tall, and Hunter 23.1 lbs and was also 32 inches tall. Both of them are about in the 50th percentile for their age.

While we were at the doctor's office, I discussed with the pedi that Heath refused to eat many vegetables and fruits. When I asked her what I should do about that, her response was to only feed him the vegetables he didn't like for three days. She said that he would not starve, but he would get hungry enough to eat them.

Well, I passed that information on to the babysitter and she claimed I was crazy! However, she went along with it. She said the first two days he just sat there with his arms crossed and looked at her like she was a mad woman for even putting that on his tray. When I only fed him vegetables for supper, he gave me the same look.

Then, this evening, I put only peas and carrots on his tray and look what we got! It worked! Yeah, no more picky eaters in this house.

This video is for Mimi.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

...Hoppin` down the bunny trail.

Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's on its way.

Searching for the Easter Bunny. (actually, fighting each other to see who can get out the door first, but it sounds a lot cuter to look for the Easter Bunny)

This last picture cracks me up. I know they weren't happy, but I also know it was just one small minute of their life, and I will forever be able to show them this picture and LAUGH!

*No Rabbits were harmed in the taking of this Photo. Surprisingly!
