The First Hunt of the Season

Ok, so the answer to your question: Yes, it makes me nervous to be around the guns with my babies. However, with the father these boys have...I have a feeling they will go hunting A LOT. We didn't stay too long because it was getting close to bedtime for Heath and Hunter, but while we were there they loved it! The gun shots didn't bother them a bit and they had a blast watching Warden and Dove retrieve the birds.

Any good Hunter (and Heath) wears camo, so we were prepared!

Happy 1st Day of Dove Season

Today is the first day of dove season, which to most doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but when you are married to the Game Warden it is a big time of the year. It now means that he will be super busy and will not be around to help much. Dove season is followed by Bow Season, followed by Deer Season, followed by Mule Deer Season, followed by Varmint Season and it all comes to an end about the end of February.

Happy Hunting and remember to buy your license!

On to the pictures:

Hunter had a blast trying to feed himself mashed potatoes. Heath wanted nothing to do with the mess (or maybe the taste of Dad's mashed potatoes). Hunter on the other hand had a blast, as you can tell. Look at that silly grin. Sweet boy!

On a side note, our friends Kurt and Melissa left on Saturday to pick up their son in Ethiopia. We received word this morning that they have him and he is an active 10 month old. Crawling everywhere. They will be back on the 9th. Pray that they can all survive the 20 hours of flying to get back. I can't even imagine what that would be like with one of my boys, let alone a child you just met. Heath and Hunter can't wait to meet their new friend. This is a picture of the cakes from their baby shower.
Yeah, two cakes...it was a very big shower.

Just in case you were wondering...

Yes, Hunter does still have pretty bad reflux.
Chris screamed for a towel....
...I grabbed the camera instead.

Hunter looks mighty proud of himself and I must admit...I was proud of him too.

Chris ran to the bathroom, either to wash up or throw up...I'm not real sure.
He did the same to Papa this summer, but Mimi wasn't quick enough with the camera.

Your Brain on Rice Cereal

Feeding time at the "zoo" is always entertaining. In this video, Hunter happened to be in an extremely good mood and was having a blast eating his cereal. It is hard to hear the sound he is making, but it is hilarious. Be sure to watch his little legs kicking like crazy. Heath's face is priceless, he looks completely annoyed with all the noise and fuss that Hunter is making. Just another day in paradise.

Six-Pack Abs

I have been trying and trying to get a good video of Hunter's "sit-ups" and this is the best that I can get. That little turkey won't do it when I have the camera in my hands. When Hunter started doing this, Chris and I thought that it was normal for a baby to be able to do "sit-ups". It wasn't until Mimi saw him do it did she tell us that this was not normal and most babies did not sit up this way. How were we supposed to know... this is our first rodeo. I will say that the boy must have some amazing ab muscles and it has pretty much healed his umbilical hernia.

Today Chris took Heath to the doctor for a follow up visit for his ear infections last week. If we have to take both babies, it is definitely a two person job, but since the doctor didn't need to see Hunter (because his ears were not as bad) just Chris went. I didn't feel that I could take the day off on the first week of school, mainly because I wouldn't want to do that to a substitute. I was very nervous and it felt very strange just dropping one baby off at the baby sitters. Chris survived it and Heath had a blast getting all of Daddy's attention. BTW: His ears are much better and he is back to his old self.

What is the difference in these two pictures?

Remember this picture....

...Well, not much has changed. The boys have grown and our cat, Reel, has joined the picture. This is one of the boys favorite pass times. It's like prime time television.

2 Sick babies + 2 of Daddy's Teeth Pulled = 1 Worn out Mommy

I have two sick babies and a husband who is down for the count.

When Chris and I returned home from Austin on Wednesday, we noticed that Heath was running a fever. Hoping that it was just him teething, I gave him some Tylenol and his fever went down. ...Just to come right back up again.

Thursday resulted in a dash to the pedi's office where we found our little ones have sore throats complete with blisters, and Heath has a double ear infection complete with high fever. My poor babies just want to be held all the time and they are so sad looking when they are not feeling well. It breaks my heart so much that I may or may not have cried several times along with them.

Today, Chris had his wisdom teeth pulled. He is pretty heavily medicated. Men just turn into BIG BABIES when they don't feel well, and Chris is no exception. Thank goodness his mother is here to help me with this crew.

Sorry, no pictures today...I'm just too tired, maybe tomorrow.
